The Photograph as Contemporary Act Ch. 6-8

Almost all of the pieces in chapter 6 each have a different story to tell about history or the way people live their lives (167). For example the piece by Fazal Sheikh entitled Halima Abdullai can tell the story about the lives of Somali refugees in Kenya which kind of reminds me of the piece done by Dorothea Lange's Migrant Mother just because they are both black and white and the main focus is on the female in both images (163). Another image in chapter I found interesting was the piece by Zwelethu Mthethwa because the two children in the center are surrounded  by magazines about models and the way the two children are positioned as if they were models themselves (175). In chapter 7 the first woman on the Moon was interesting because everyone knows about the first man on the Moon but I've never heard about the first woman on the Moon so it's as if women are making their mark as well (203). The piece by Shannan Ebner entitled Agitate reminded me of the logos we did and is similar to the words I chose because I like powerful or unique words for some reason (238).
